Department of Chemistry:

            The Chemistry Department is one of the supporting departments for engineering branches. The course includes Engineering chemistry (Theory & Practical) for classes of First and Second semesters. The department of chemistry has started in the year 1997and engaged in teaching applied chemistry at the first year level of all branches of Engineering courses. The Department result exhibits between 90-95% in theory and 100% in practical.
            The Department has five faculty members. Three of them are doctorate holders. Department has proved its achievements in the area of research by publishing papers in national and international journals. The faculty members attend workshops and seminars at national and international level to improve their academic knowledge.

VISION

To be a knowledge sharing center of excellence enabling fresh minds to acquire fundamental insight in to chemical science which contribute intellectually vibrant individuals for the welfare of the society.

MISSION

The Department of Chemistry established primarily as a part of the Institute shall strive to:
  • Provide strong base for teaching in applied sciences to all engineering courses.
  • Train the students rigorously and evaluate transparently so that they are well prepared to be leaders in pioneering technologies.
  • By capitalizing on the synergy between the departments, encourage the students to act as catalyst in applying basic knowledge of chemical science for assistance in problem solving.
  • Facilitate quality research and collaboration with premier institutions for research, development and knowledge sharing.

Infrastructure / Lab facilities

 The Department has enough infrastructure consisting of instrumental and non-instrumental laboratories.

Research activities

  Faculty members are involved in various R&D activities to enhance their academic knowledge.
